Wrestling team takes second place

Northumberland’s Philip Harrison faces off against Lancaster’s Shane Chambers in the last match to determine the winner of the top trophy in the wrestling tournament held Saturday, Jan. 11 in Franklin.

Northumberland’s Philip Harrison faces off against Lancaster’s Shane Chambers in the last match to determine the winner of the top trophy in the wrestling tournament held Saturday, Jan. 11 in Franklin.

Two teams from the Lower Northern Neck traveled south for last Saturday’s Franklin Tournament, and when the final whistle had blown, the Lancaster Red Devils had taken first place with the Northumberland Indians finishing second. The margin of victory was close with the edge going to Lancaster 36-30.
