Softball team’s winning record still intact

The Lady Indians closed out the week before spring break with a Thursday evening 6-2 loss to Essex in a night game at home.
The Lady Trojans used the strong pitching arm of Arleigh Woods to shut down the previously active bats of the Northumberland varsity softball team.
Essex took an early lead and never trailed in the game as Northumberland just wasn’t able to get the bat on the ball.
This was Northumberland’s third loss in seven games, but the Lady Indians still have a winning record. They join three of the Northern Neck’s six teams with a winning percentage above .500.
Thsi week marks the first of full Northern Neck play with the Colonial Beach Lady Drifters in first place with a 2-0 mark.
