Imprisoned by comedy: Westmoreland Players perform Neil Simon classic

The Westmoreland Players current production, Neil Simon’s “The Prisoner of Second Avenue,” will bring back memories to older members of the audience. The background soundtrack includes Speedy Alka Selzer and Dinah Shore’s “See the USA, in your Chevrolet” commercials. Other than that, younger members of the audience can identify with the trials and tribulations of Mel and Edna Edison as Mel, at age 47, gets downsized out of his job and, adding insult to injury, their 14th story apartment is burglarized.
