The Firecracker 5K went off without a hitch during the July 4th celebration in Reedville. An unseasonably cool day with lower humidity saw a record 533 entrants in the race. There were serious and casual runners, including a number of children being pushed in strollers. This yearly tradition was part of the larger celebration which also enjoyed by a record number of people. The big parade was led by Grand Marshall Danny Haynie, the long time organizer of the parade. A wonderful fireworks capped off a fun filled day for all. The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum thanks all participants, organizers and volunteers and looks forward to doing it all again in 2015.
