Northumberland Indians head coach Brian Hahn (center) talks to his players.

Last Thursday at 5:30 p.m., between 65 and 70 young men met with Head Coach Brian Hahn and members of his staff in the lockers rooms before hitting the practice field. It won’t be the last time as they work down to those late August days and the start of the 2014 season.

Joining Hahn on the field were newcomers Todd Jones, a graudate of Northumberland football himself, and Justin Dennet, who is serving as the current strength coach.

Set to come on board are Zach Hues, the only returnee, plus Brant Hays and Josh Rytel. Hays and Rytel will have primary responsibility for the JV team while also working with the varsity.  Both are new to the Northumberland County teaching team.

Hahn indicated he was pleased with the definition of the football program as a whole.

“It is moving in the right direction,” he said.
