Long time residents of Village, Robert and Marguerite Brann, have relocated to Deltaville, Virginia to be near their daughter, Cathy.
The couple contributed time, energy and support to family, neighbors and the extended community during the lifetime they lived in the Village area. They will celebrate 69 years of marriage in March.
Running the Village Seed Service for 30 years, they provided seed, fertilizer and equipment maintenance to farmers in the Northern Neck. They ran the dealership for Minneapolis Moline, watching the company grow from Moline to Oliver, to White, Inc.
The Bulger sisters, Liz Coggin, Kackie Sanford and Lillian Lee Bulger, recently visited with the Branns, lifetime neighbors and friends. Robert had requested that the sisters sing his favorite song, “Peace in the Valley,” at his funeral; however, he remarked as he is now 89 years old, he might outlive all of them so they better sing for him now. The sisters agreed and sang the couple’s two favorite songs, “Peace in the Valley” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” as well as some other loved hymns.
