On Friday, Feb. 1, Fairfields Baptist Church in Burgess held an “Owl Night” from 5:30-8:30 p.m. for children of all ages, in the community. 49 children enjoyed the fun-filled evening at the church while their parents had the opportunity for a child-free night out.
There was much excitement in the air. Children were armed with a flashlight to aid in a “lights-out” scavenger hunt on all three floors of the church. Owl eggs and other clues led to discovering meaningful Bible truths. Bible verses were read by flashlight and discussions led children to the conclusion that God is there in times of trouble in their lives and that they can find courage, through their relationship with God, to face those times.
Plenty of adult volunteers from the church family were on hand to ensure a safe and fun evening for the children. The church provided dinner for the children and a movie offered another good time after the scavenger hunt.
All donations received for “Owl Night” benefitted the church Benevolence Fund which in turn, helps others in times of crisis or transition. If you would like to participate in the next “Owl Night”, please call the church office at 453-3530 or Kingdom Kids Child Care Center at 453-7110. Fairfields Baptist Church is located at 15213 Northumberland Hwy in Burgess and welcomes all to its services and activities.
