Even Batman needs his stew
The rainy weather didn’t stop one little super hero from enjoying award winning Brunswick Stew at this past weekend’s fundraiser at Fairfields Fire Department
There was nothing better on Saturday’s cold, rainy day than the hot Brunswick stew sold by the Fairfields Volunteer Fire Dept. This is especially true when it’s made by a 24-time award winner stew master like Randy Bush and his assistant, Dale Clarke.
They started cooking the stew at 5 a.m. and by a little after 1 p.m. they were cleaning up the huge 47-gallon cooking pot they used to make the stew in.
There was an interesting story Clarke told about a large cooking pot Bush once bought. It seems a witch came up and wanted to buy the pot also. She even said she would give Bush a hundred dollars if he wouldn’t buy the pot so she could buy it, but he wouldn’t agree so she said she would put a curse on it. So far he doesn’t think it has hurt his stew making.
