The Northumberland Public “Arts Alive” series is entirely unpredictable and always fun. Last month, it had a tambourine shaking, singing and dancing, paint artist. Friday, it was a trio of young Fleeton photographers whose work is beyond that of most seasoned camera artists.
The young photographers, Jessica, Sarah and Tyler Haynie, range in age from Jessica at 14, Tyler at seven, and Sarah at 12. They have a gift that can’t be taught: they know what will make a striking photograph and, more importantly, know how to frame it. Many of their pictures are of scenes on the waters around Fleeton and Reedville. The horizon in their photos is always straight, something many, maybe most, amateur photographers neglect to assure.
