Car Club raises money for pets

Posted on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 9:01 am

Keith Keeve from the Muscle Car Club wanted to help out the community so they joined forces with Family Dollar and came up with the idea to help the local animal shelter.
There were bounce houses for the kids and car washes all for the purpose of making money for the Northumberland County Animal Shelter.
“Whoever we can help out, Keeves said. “The schools, the animal shelter, the YMCA. Whatever we can do to help the community. We just want to help people.
“There’s so many kids out there nowadays that don’t have a whole lot. I just love people, I love kids, and I’ve always been a kind-hearted person. When I was growing up, everybody looked out for kids. It didn’t have to be your parents, everybody was looking out for everyone else’s child, but it’s not like that anymore,” Keeves said.
Family Dollar Store Manager Gina Fones, who also volunteers at the Northumberland County Animal Shelter, said that Family Dollar is here to support and give back to the community. “We felt this was the best way to connect with Northern Neck Muscle Club and they came up with the idea of having a Car Wash, a Bake Sale and it all goes back to the community.”
