It has been 243 years since the document severing the ties between the 13 American colonies and Great Britain was adopted by the Continental Congress. Ever since, Americans, from sea to shining sea and beyond, have joined together to commemorate and to celebrate life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And so, the Reedville Festival Chorale, under the direction of Sharon Freude, invites the public to join in a grand old celebration in song on Sunday, July 7 at 3 p.m. at Festival Halle on Main Street, Reedville.
The program will be filled with America’s diverse music. Patriotic favorites will abound as well as songs from Hollywood and Broadway and back to our own Rivah Country.
The Chorale, now in its 11th season, will be accompanied by Carina Sprouse on piano and will be joined by guest musicians Jessica Guy-Haynie on flute and David Hershiser on clarinet. Trisha Tetlow, Darlene Stibal and Jim Leach will add the percussion dimension.
Admission is by donation that will benefit the continuing restoration of Festival Halle and the Healthy Harvest (formerly Northern Neck) Food Bank. Please bring both cash and canned food donations. A reception will follow the concert.
