Northumberland Public Library continued its summer program for youngsters Monday with a “Duct Tape Construction” program.
If there was one color of duct tape available for the kids’ use there were two dozen and not a gray roll in the bunch.
“There are so many things you can make from duct tape, the kids may run out,” Childrens Librarian Marilyn Smith said. The youngsters had made pencil wallets by taping over the outside of zip lock bags and were busily covering the outsides of composition books to make them more durable. They had started the program by making remarkably real looking feathers by putting tape on either side of a thin piece of wire and cutting it to shape.
Each kid expressed his or her artist eye on their work. All were colorful but some were geometric and others wildly abstract.
