Fall sports awards ceremony

Tuesday night last week saw the close of the Fall Sports programs for Northumberland for the 2019 season. With no teams or individual still playing, the ceremony both closed the season and set the time for winter sports to begin for the Indians.

Athletic Director Teresa Rock welcomed those in attendance and thanked those many supporters who work behind the scenes to make the Indians successful both on and off the fields of play. A total of 37 seniors from the eleven sports teams, including JVs, were recognized for their contributions. Among the honors given that night were Northumberland letters, pins for the sport, captain’s bars, all district and regional honors plus a list of the Northern Neck’s All Academic members. Those will be listed below by sport of participation.

Cheerleadering seniors are Bernadette Blackwell, Nariah Bowers, Dynajia Hickman, Kenadee Weldon, and Mercedes Sigler. All Academic are Bernadette Blackwell, Hannah Bowers, Dynajia Hickman, Najiyah Noel and Kenadee Weldon.

Cross Country seniors are  Pierce Delcourt and Bess Blake; on the All Academic are Grant Biddlecomb, Bess Blake, Pierce Delcourt, Zach Moore and Tom Neale. Golf seniors are Davis Biddlecomb, Matthew Jett, Patrick Lewis, Cory Palubinski,  and Maddie Sumner. All Academic are Chase Fisher, Matthew Jett, Patrick Lewis, Cory Palubinski, and Maddie Sumner.
