The field hockey team had their week “weathered out.” Tuesday’s game against Caroline was rescheduled due to the heat. Thursday’s trip to Bruton ended up just that, a trip to Bruton. Coach Mark Fridenstine noted the ladies got off the bus long enough to use the rest room and then were treated to a lightning and thunder show before the game was canceled to be played later. The Lady Indians will host Bruton here on Thursday.
The Indian’s golf team took a trip this past week to the Pianakank Golf Course to play Mathews and Middlesex. According to Coach Steve Berman, they did not play their best golf of the season, “But we won.”
The Indians carded a 196 with Mathews coming in at 207 and Middlesex close behind with a 209 for nine holes. Brandon Chism led the Indians with a 42. Chase Fisher shot a 45, Patrick Lewis came in with a 49 and Mathew Jet with a 55. Bailey Lewis was on the injured reserve for the match.
The golf team will be back on the links this coming Wednesday with matches on both Wednesday and Friday.
