Dozens of children ranging in age from just a few months up to 12 years old gathered at the Callao Firehouse in their most festive attire for an afternoon of fun, games, and contests. The firehouse was packed for the annual event held on Sunday, October 22.
Events for the day kicked off with craft time, which allowed the kids to get creative with spooky and silly foam Halloween cut outs and craft paper. Following craft time came the highly anticipated costume contest. The children were divided by age group and judged based on categories such as scariest costume, cutest costume, best homemade costume, and a few others. The winning children were treated to a variety of prizes including books, sidewalk chalk, and other fun items. The children sported a wide variety of costumes this year. Some of the more popular options were princesses, cartoon characters, zoo animals, and superheros. No two costumes were alike and the positive attitudes of the kids made them all winners.
