The Kingston Community Day celebration held in September was a tremendous success. Although the early morning cloudiness posed a possible threat of rain to the event, the midday cloud clearing turned it into a perfect day for a celebration. The first Kingston Community Day was started last year when Patricia Cannady and Marshall Parker discussed this vision and decided to commit to an actual date for the event. The idea caught-on and an eager committee of prior and current residents got together to begin the planning. This year’s event was much anticipated due on the activities and the success of last year. In addition to honoring the community elders and reminiscing about childhood adventures, it was a time to enjoy great food and some new fun-filled activities.
