Ladies from the Callao Moose Lodge took a walk Saturday. They walked from the Lodge, up to the stoplight in Callao and back again, all to raise money for the national Cancer Society.
The walk was the idea of the Moose’s ladies auxiliary and was headed by Tammy Landman.
The ladies, decked out in Moose purple sweat shirts adorned with large pink breast cancer awareness ribbons and carrying bright balloons, attracted waves and horn honks from passing motorists.
The walk was the first sponsored by the ladies and attracted eight walkers.
“We hope to do it again next year and attract more people,” Barbara Ogg said.
Almost back to the lodge, the ladies said it was a longer walk in the doing than in the contemplation. At least one said she was looking forward to a Bloody Mary back at the lodge.
