The Lady Indians soccer teams have participated in two of the coldest scrimmages this season. Friday night was the worst and to some extent the score showed as they lost 4-1 to the W&L Lady Eagles from Montross. “We controlled the game from the get-go”stated Coach Mark Fridenstine, ‘’We had opportunities but didn’t capitalize on them.” Scrimmages are to show where a team needs work and against a fast Lady Eagle team, the Indian coaching staff had much to look over. Even though Fridenstine didn’t come right out and say so, in his description of the game, you got the opinion that next time it may very well be a different story. W&L scored most of their goals in the second half of play. The Lady Indian’s lone goal came in the second half from Alice Sisson.

Fridenstine praised the play of defenders Grace Emminizer and Annie Newsome.

The JV young ladies recorded their second straight shut out of the scrimmage season with a 5-0 blanking of W&L. It was Jean Jett on the nets successfully smothering every thing the JV Eagles sent her way. Goals were recorded by Cameron Lewis with a hat trick

(three goals), Daisy Ramirez and Trinity Taylor. Taylor also had an assist. Besides the play of Jett in goal, Morgan Ransone drew praise on defense. Lisa Roman, Mark Fridenstine and Becky Jones will be coaching this year.
