The Northern Neck Planning District Commission (NNPDC) announced that three Northern Neck companies were awarded contracts by the U.S. Navy for project management and engineering support services: MTEQ in Kilmarnock, Digital Dynamics LLC in Kilmarnock, and NNk C4 Solutions in Lancaster.
NNPDC Executive Director Jerry W. Davis said, “The development of the professional, scientific and technical service sector of the Northern Neck economy is a top priority.” Lancaster, Northumberland and Richmond Counties are designated as HUBZones (Qualified Historically Underutilized Business Zones) by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The designation helps small businesses in the region to attract federal contracts and increase employment related to scientific and technical services. “To encourage technology and defense sector companies to succeed in the Northern Neck, the NNPDC convenes a quarterly informal networking group together with federal small business procurement personnel to discuss challenges and opportunities in federal contracting,” Davis added.
MTEQ is a cutting-edge lead sensor system integrator. With a deep background in passive hyperspectral imaging, MTEQ also features specialists in lasers, ground moving target indicator (GMTI) radar, acoustic detection, and other forms of sensing. MTEQ’s technology horizons scanning tools and broad participation in the defense and sensing communities gives the company access to the latest technological developments in government, industry, and academia. Through the Seaport-NxG contract, MTEQ will continue to support Navy programs through its rapid prototyping facility in Kilmarnock and C4ISR design, development and services division in Lorton.
