On August 11th, 2017 the Lancaster County Sheriff’s office responded to a report of a missing person near the 600 Block of Glebe Road. The body of the missing man was later found in the waters of Carter Creek at the end of Weems Road in Lancaster County. The individual was later identified as Graham McCormick, a 31-year-old Georgia man. He was last seen between midnight and 1 a.m. on that same evening by the friends he was visiting in Irvington. The body was spotted by a passing boater at 11:30 a.m. Friday, just 53 minutes after being reported missing.
Sheriff Patrick McCranie of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office noted that this is an active investigation and everyone is waiting on the medical examiner’s report. If it is found to be foul play, the investigation will move forward. Lt. Timmy Self and Detective Johnny Smithart are assigned to the case.
