An ordinary Saturday afternoon was turned into an adventurous trip to fantasyland with a delightful interpretation of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” at Westmoreland Players Theatre this past weekend. Family and friends filled the playhouse to near capacity with laughter and applause at the antics of the 48 children ranging from first grade to rising seniors. Although characters from the original fairy tale remain, it’s a slightly different story line adapted for a large number of varied age parts.
On Monday, the children auditioned for their roles and by Saturday they were singing, dancing and giving out their lines for two different performances. Led by two actor/directors from the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT), they practiced every day from Monday afternoon through Friday. Workshops on Mime, Stage Make-up and Acting were held later in the afternoon on three of those days.
