Barbara Lee Bowen Forrest

Barbara Lee Bowen Forrest, 75, of Reedville, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2010.  Born on December 21, 1934 in Baltimore, Md. she moved to Reedville when she was in the third grade. She worked for Omega Protein for over 42 years and was an active member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Reedville, where she had served as Chairperson of the Administrative Board for many years.  Barbara volunteered as Secretary for the Reedville Fisherman's Museum for 20 years.  She was a leader in the Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years Eugene R. Forrest, brother, Frederick H. Bowen, his wife Donna, and his sons Frederick and George Tyree.  She deeply loved her grand niece Taylor Marie Bowen.  She will be missed by friends and the Reedville Community.
Funeral services were held at Bethany United Methodist Church on May 22. Burial was held in Roseland Cemetery.

Dorothy Redman Palmer Sisson

Dorothy Redman Palmer Sisson, 89, of Alexandria, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010. She was the widow of Herbert Harley Sisson and a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Dwight K. Sisson and his wife, Helen, of Hinton, W.Va. and David P. Sisson and his wife, DeDe, of Montross; six grandchildren, Leslie Diane Rose, Bekley, W.Va., Kami Sue Sisson, True, W.Va., Rebecca Courtney Sisson, Sarah Elizabeth Sisson, Mary Rachel Sisson and Anna Marie Sisson, all of Montross, and great-grandson, Charlie Matser III.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 3 at Lebanon United Methodist Church with Rev. John C. Ward Jr. officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were James Ficklin, Merle Daiger, Gary Sisson, Andrew Hinson, Randy Bowen and Charlie Master. Gwendoline Glazzard Sisson

Gwendoline Glazzard Sisson of Montross died on Friday, May 28, 2010.
Mrs. Sisson was the widow of George Roland Sisson Jr. Born January 31, 1926 in Worcester, England to Albert and Mabel Glazzard, she came to America in 1945 as a war bride. She worked as legal secretary for J. Clifford Hutt for over 60 years.
Mrs. Sisson is survived by her son, George R. Sisson III and wife, Elizabeth G. Sisson; her daughter, Kathryn S. Wittman and her husband, Robert J. Wittman; her grandchildren, Rod Sisson, David Sisson, Laura Sisson, Devin Gooch, Josh Wittman, Daniel Gooch, Corey Proffitt, Joshua Sisson and Tiffany Waddell; her great-grandaughter, Morgan Gooch, and her brother, David A. Glazzard and his wife, Anne, of Hereford, England.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 31, 2010 at St. James Episcopal Church in Montross with Rev. Dr. Prentice Kinser III officiating. Pallbearers were Wyatt Omohundro, Charlie Sisson, Johnny Sisson, Ronnie Stinson, Ricky Stinson, G. N. Fearnow, George Fearnow, Jimmy White, Karl O'Dell and George Townsend.  Honorary pallbearers were Pat Given, Gloria White, Pat Higgs, Bettie Lou McGinness, Carole Boyd, Anne Golden, Faye Rock, Bonnie Chandler, Janie Carver, Betty R. Horner and Ellen Gouldman. Allen MacQueen Starrett, Jr.

Allen MacQueen Starrett, Jr., 67, of Heathsville, died on May 30.  He was a retired Police Officer from Haddon Heights, NJ.  He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Reedville American Legion Post #117.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley B. Starrett, and two sons Allen M. Starrett  III and wife Christine of Sandston and Christopher J. Starrett and wife Emily of Glen Allen and one sister Judith A. Aiken and husband Richard of Vt. and three brothers William "Bill" K. Starrett and wife Claire of Fl, Robert J. Starrett and wife Judith of Pa. and Mark E.
