RAL Art Center, 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, Looking Ahead:

Call To Artists! There has never been a better time to join the RAL Art Center’s 58th Annual Labor Day Art Show! Artists are invited to enter original works of art in any media. The show is limited to 200 works of art and will be held August 28-September 28 at the RAL Art Center. Early entry is recommended (804) 436-9309.

August 22

Henderson United Methodist Church, 72 Henderson Drive (Rte. 202), Callao, hosts a free community lunch and fellowship time 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.  The Northumberland Public Library Tech Mobile will be at the church during lunch to provide all the services the Tech Mobile offers.  All are invited.

August 23

Blood Drive, Northumberland High School, 201 Academic Lane, Heathsville, 1-6 p.m.

Abiding Faith Baptist Church, 83 Bluff Point Rd., Kilmarnock will provide a Free Community Meal from 6 to 8 p.m.

August 25

Abiding Faith Baptist Church, 83 Bluff Point Rd., Kilmarnock, will observe “Open Pulpit” with Elder Sharon Smith, a minister at St. Paul Holy Church in Lancaster where Elder Diane Crosby serves as the Pastor

New Saint John’s Baptist Church Revival Service starts with Reverend Kenneth Rioland of Chesterfield as evening speaker with praise and worship at 2:30 p.m. and service at 3 p.m. August 27-30 Reverend Frank Coleman of Greater Messiah Baptist Church of Yonkers, New York will be our guest speaker. With praise and worship at 7 p.m. and service at 7:30 p.m.

August 25-29

Macedonia Baptist Church, 1081 Macedonia Lane, celebrates Homecoming & Revival on Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Fred Sales. Fellowship dinner will follow.  Revival services begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Terry Streeter, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Washington, DC, as the guest speaker and Evangelist for the week. Revival continues Monday through Thursday  at 7 p.m. nightly We look forward to seeing you there!

Congressman Rob Wittman will speak at the Northern Neck Chapter 1823 NARFE annual fall picnic, noon at the Humphreys Shelter (Shelter I), Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, Lancaster ($4 parking fee). The chapter will provide sausages, hamburgers and hot dogs. Attendees are asked to bring a dessert (last names A-M) or salad/side dish (last names N – Z). Info: 804-450-3919.

2019 Northern Neck First Responders Softball Tournament, Callao Ruritan Lot, 185 Ruritan Lane, begins 8 a.m. $5 raffle for door prizes. Proceeds to Lancaster Co Deputy Santa Program. Hosted by LCSO & VSP.

Chesapeake Academy’s Performing Arts and Lecture Series (PALS) present the Virginia Opera’s Goldie B.
