The Northumberland Elementary School Parent-Faculty Organization (PFO) hosted their second annual “Father-Daughter, Mother-Son Spring Dance” on April 1. Dozens of elementary students and their parents or guardians dressed to impress and came to the school for a night full of fun. The school was transformed into a spring wonderland with pastel decorations peppering the property. The evening included dancing in the gym and snacks and photographs in the cafeteria. The PFO raised nearly $1,000 from admissions to the dance, before deducting expenditures.
This is one of their several fundraisers throughout the year, which also includes the sale of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. This year they sold over 1,100 boxes of doughnuts. The pick-up day for the doughnut orders of three boxes or more is today, April 5, from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Orders with less than three boxes will be sent home with the student. There will be some “cash and carry” boxes available at the school. The majority of the proceeds from the fundraisers will go towards playground equipment.
