Application for wetland and coastal sand dune beach permits were a main topic of discussion at the Northumberland County Wetlands Board meeting held on Tuesday, November 13 at the Old Courthouse in Heathsville.
Chairman Harry Towne called the meeting to order and board members considered approval for 10 requests acquiring permits. A request by Lynn A. Brunette was submitted to remove a failing bulkhead and install 126 linear feet of armor stone revetment and install a 48 foot armor stone groin along the shoreline of the Potomac River and 180 Winnegance Lane. The request was approved for a one-year permit.
John Carmack requested a permit to install 264 linear feet of riprap revetment along the shoreline of Henry’s Creek and 474 Sandy Run Trail due to the deterioration of a previous installed wooden bulkhead.
