Market Season Will Return
It may be the end of the Market season but the town of Kilmarnock promises it will be back next year! “The community really seems to enjoy the Market and its unique approach to an old school concept,” stated Ashley Jones Market Coordinator. “We have grown in just six months and are really excited to see what the future of the market holds.”
This month will showcase Rogue Oysters and their farm raised oysters. Every hour they will be holding a shucking demo with some educational information on what they do and how they do it. Stop by and see them on the hour starting at 9 a.m. for the demos.
The Market opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday with a fall theme! Bring the kids dressed in their costumes and start the Halloween festivities a little early. They will have pumpkin painting for the kiddos and visit the vendors for some old fashion Trick-or-Treating!
Each market is open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the fourth Saturday, May to October, and is held under the Pavilion and Vendor’s lot at Kilmarnock’s Town Centre Park.
The Town of Kilmarnock will also conduct town wide Trick-or-Treating on Thursday, October 31, only. Per the Town’s ordinances, only children twelve (12) years of age and under are permitted to engage in trick or treating activities. However, this does not prohibit any parent or guardian from accompanying their children. All trick or treating activities are to be concluded by 9:00 p.m.
Additionally, Lancaster by the Bay Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Kilmarnock Kandy for Kids in Steptoe’s District from 4 to 6 PM on Saturday, October 26th.
