Cub Scout Pack 250 is in full swing of its popcorn sales! For the next two weekends you can find them outside of Callao Supermarket from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 23 and the 30.
Pack 250 is out of Heathsville United Methodist Church, and this is the first time they are doing popcorn sales to help raise money to fund activities for the pack. Activities are all kinds of fun things for the boys to do, such as; campouts, Fun Day, cookouts, and other events. “This is only their second year since they formed,” said Troop Leader, Donna Kimble, who is heading up the fundraising effort.
Scouting has a long tradition in Virginia, the first Boy Scout Troop forming in 1910; just 6 months after the Boy Scouts of America were incorporated by William D. Boyce. The Cub Scouts focus on boys ages 7 to 11 ½ years old, and in grades 1- 5. It is the largest of the three BSA divisions, and it’s goal is to promote character development, citizenship training, personal fitness, and more.
