The day was perfect for golf as milder temperatures prevailed and the humidity dropped to a comfortable level for the 42 players who participated in the Quinton Oaks Member Appreciation Day Golf Tournament on Sunday, July 15.
Free hotdogs, beverages and ice cream were available to the players as they played throughout the day.
The Callaway handicap system was used to decide the winner for low net.
Betty Garner took the honors for low net with a score of 61. Bob Garner and Diane Maddox tied for second with a score of 63. Ryan McDougle won the low gross with a score of 74, while second place ended in a three-way tie between Gordon Wilkins, David O’Bier and Maggie Dennett, who all shot 79.
The low Callaway Net went to Carol Reese, who shot a 1 under par 70, while Larry Long and Gordon Wilkins finished a close second at even par 71.
The closest to the pin winners were Diane Maddox, Robyn McDougal, Steve Waterfield and Steve Langford.
