Northumberland County’s school board got welcome news at its August 13 meeting.
Debbie DeVivi, the schools’ director of testing and accountability, told the board that all three of the county’s schools are again fully accredited by the state. The high school and elementary school had been fully accredited; but, last year the middle school had missed the mark.
Northumberland Elementary School was rated at the highest levels across the board. The middle school did almost as well, dropping to the second level of achievement in only Achievement Gap English. The second level is still passing by the state’s standards. The high school was at the second level in both Achievement Gap English and Math. It was also at the second level for chronic absenteeism.
With school opening looming, the county’s schools again participated in SONA Bank’s ‘Pack the Bus’ program.
