Northumberland Native and contestant on Season 12 of NBC’s hit show, The Voice, Terry “TSoul” Pinkard took a trip down memory lane as he stepped into Northumberland County Schools on March 27. The 29-year-old music artist from Burgess gave students a surprise performance after they were called into the auditorium for a “special” assembly. TSoul stepped out from behind the curtain singing “Take Me to the River,” the song that advanced him on the show with a chair turn from both Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
Not only did he treat the students with an exclusive show, but also he offered them words of reassurance and inspiration to follow their dreams. He stated that he was in the same place as they were and they have all the same opportunities. “In life a lot of times there’s two decisions. There’s a thing called right and there’s this thing called wrong,” stated TSoul, “In the last ten years of my life, it’s been some wrongs, but it seems I’ve made a lot more right choices to get exactly where I’m at then I made wrong choices.”
