On January 21, Women of the Northern Neck rallied for the history making March for Women. The group boarded a bus in Kilmarnock and journeyed to the RFK Stadium in D.C. It was an opportunity for individuals of all backgrounds to exercise their first amendment freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and the rights of assembly and petition. Participant Eve Jordan stated, “It was exciting, exhilarating and empowering for all those involved.  We participated with the huge numbers of people gathering together to celebrate our country and our democracy, and the smooth transition of power in our great nation, followed by a peaceful protest to in response to some ideals put forward by our leaders.  This is a hallmark of our democracy, and we celebrate and give thanks for the ability to have our voices heard.  It was a great day, a day for liberty and justice for all.”
